Stay away from Marten. They will starve you to death with those short runs. You will pick up at a rail yard and go 150 miles and it doesn't deliver till the next day. Or you will sit in the shop for 4 days waiting to get a basic service done. Then After that you get another short load and stay in the regions that need help. You will take the good long load not to the shipper but to the rail yard. Now if you just want regional work then maybe that's the fit for you, but the guys on regional were saying they were starving as well. I lasted 1 month. I told them I wanted home time in dallas area, and they finally gave me a long load to Salt lake city I dropped the load Indianapolis and took the bus home. Freymiller I'm sure is way better they seem to have the miles. While at marten 1500 miles at .42 really won't put a dent in the bills.

Thanks Dinomite!... I asked the recruiter what their turn over rate was and he told me 100%, that was my first red flag, then I was asking him about different home time locations, they were very generous at FFE...he couldn't give me a straight answer wanting me to clean out the truck at each home time..That was the next red flag...your response did it for me and I thank you!!! Filling out the Freymiller app right now...

That turnover rate is normal for the industry. Since companies are determined to pay their drivers pennies on the dollar and treat them like 3rd rate laborers in the process, it will never change. Marten, heartland, schneider, roehl, Crete...They all promise big money, and then give you small miles. Freymiller pays based on longevity at your previous employer, and they start at .34cpm.

Six of one half dozen of another, now we have to way the differences, vacation and home time options, perks in the truck, policies re grading bob tailing and inverters...my finalists are; FreyMiller, Transport America, Shafter and Martin... Any input would be appreciated

I'm moving to Kentucky but that doesn't because I don't have a permanent home, I'm looking for the highest pay for the least mile, staying out of the Northeast if possible, I want an inverter and I don't want to have to clean out the truck when I take more than four days off...I like staying out 8 to 10 weeks and to stay in various parts go the country with family and friends... Had this with FFE, but not the pay..
