Bottom line..if you want to team go to USX but if your solo then Schneider is the better option..i agree with others..get into tanker division and you will receive so much more respect and more money..if you dont have endorsement you can practice on tests given on here(look top of website)and state exam is not difficult..when you look at people's opinion please also look at years of experience to better inform yourself which direction you should take...people who have more than 5 years have a much better view of the trucking industry..listen to them..we are not here to give out bad advice..we want to help as many people not make the same mistakes we all did..good luck Michelle..
SheepDog Thanks this. -
I would like to team up at USX , you know they help u find a partner ?

teaming is definetly the best way to go. Do you know anyone in your family, or a friend that would like to team with you? That is the best way to go, using a friend or family member, someone you have known for a while. Unless they have changed, they will team you up at first than you can go solo or, find your own teammate. If you can't find your own teammate through family or a friend, you may meat someone while in orientation that you hook up with. teaming with just anyone is a tough go, that's why a family member or friend is a better way to go. good luck to you

If you've been at this for six months and your worried about a backing test I would suggest stay where your at until you know how to back? What have you been doing at Werner for 6 months that you couldn't pass a simple Pre-hire backing test at USX? I've never worked for USX but couldn't imagine it being to different from any other companys backing test...

I agree, you should stay where you are and practice backing. My wife wasn't too good at first but, she can back a van with the best of them now. practice is the key, builds confidence as well...

You don't having to worry about backing up at US Express. I see a lot of their Drivers taking up parking spaces at the truck stops with bobtails. Why that it is? I do not know. The best is when I see two of the bobtails parked next to each other in the truck parking area of a truck stop. They couldn't just use the same spot? I mean the spot is big enough to hold two bobtails you know.

How many of the drivers talking about how great USX is offered their name and driver numbers for their referral bonus? It's well documented on this site, USX is a team oriented company. Solo drivers pick up and deliver TEAM freight. Spouse teams, friend teams, family member teams can do just fine with them. I wouldn't expect to much success teaming with someone you don't even know.

It's not just USX bobtails that do that.. Pretty much anyone that goes to a TS to park is bobtailing, take up a big spot and I rarely see two park in the same spot. If I am bobtailing, I will park in front of another bt, if I can or, behind it. I do my best not to park in a big spot. I am also one of those drivers that get on the CB and say something about it. So many drivers are cowards to go talk to another driver and say, "hey, lets double up so we don't take two big spots". Ok, I am done...lol

Sir at Werner they don't test you out , once you finish training they give you the key of the truck that it .
