still havent seen any actual evidence of the "2 thread rule". at the end of the day, its more than likely gonna be the decision of the d.o.t. guy that got ya. some might let ya go with it flush, some might say you need 5 threads to be safe. on top of that, if your gonna actually do something shady like that to begin with, its only commmon sense to cover it up with a lug cover anyway.

I have always heard that, but can find no proof. I want to see it in black and white, or it may be just an old truckers tale. If there is any thread at all past the lug, the lug is tight, wether 1/4, 1/2, or 5 threads. I spent good money changing my studs that looked perfectly fine to me because I had always "heard" this, but now that I look for an actual law, I feel as if I wasted my money. This was a few years ago, but between having to order studs and put them in I spent money and incurred downtime.

If there is nothing in black and white stating this, then it's nothing more than an opinion. I have never heard of anyone actually getting a ticket for this.

I'll be in the big D in a couple of days. I hope to find something going back to Louisville area. It may be dead all next week.

Most likely will have to run up to Norman, OK.

I don't know if anyone replied yet to this. I didn't read to the end.

I've gotten followed twice. One even had a dash cam. I'm told they are retired DOT and yes Mercer backs their call. They are all over. I was followed in TN I81. I saw him. and I 35 in Texas, never saw him.
