what kind of printers have you guys had luck with? Im guessing the ink jet will dry up rather quickly so I was leaning towards laser.
Any brands or models you guys prefer?

I use a hpj610 wireless inkjet printer/scanner/copier, have no problem with ink cartridges drying up, it uses hp61 cartridges. I use it to print my logs and oversize permits, I scan my bills with it for trippak, and I use it to copy whatever I need to. this same one been in the truck for three years now cost me 59.99 plus tax at wally world. and it connects wirelessly thru my Verizon mifi card

Ink jets (mobile style) are smaller and are OK but costly per page, lasers are faster and cheaper (per page) if you can live with black and a bit bulkier. Consider space and connectivity and initial cost. Both have pros and cons. If you'll be doing a lot of printing, then you should probably go laser as the ongoing costs savings will be considerable over time vs ink cartridges (I find HP to be the more dependable and readily available in many styles and budgets)

I've been using the HP photosmart wireless (D110 I think) for approx. 4-5 years now. Front load and has done us very well.
We have to print almost everyday (log sheets). It's also a scanner and has it's own email thru HP so I can have my oversize permits sent right to the truck like a fax. I also get my paysheets emailed to me thus sent to the truck printer all wireless.
Very pleased with this inkjet. I seem to use up the ink before every drying up and that is with about 1.2 pages per day. Have to buy ink couple times a year.

for what the needs of a trucker are. i dno't think it really matters. they're all good quality and will do the same job. for a cheap price.

some have cannons, some have hps. and most have gotten at least 3 years. most have internet, and email. and can scan.

everyone has the same answer. they're all happy.

get yourself a phone that can do mobile hotspot so you don't have to buy a seperate air card. and buy any printer/scanner. i think they'll all print wirelessly these days. and your all set. you should already have an email address. they've been around for years now.

I use a Epson I bought at Wally world, a 4 in 1 that cost about $60. It uses separate color cartridges so you only buy what you need. I went with ink jet because I figure the heat, cold humidity and vibration doesn't do the electronics any good so cheaper is best if I have to replace it very often.

Fan of the Epson WorkForce 645, scanner, fax, printer, card reader. Color inkjet with wifi capabilities that are nice. Lil big, but has been working quite nicely for awhile now.

I'm really rough on electronics so HP and Lexmark are off of my list. However, I've been beating up a Canon printer for some time now, and it still works. I don't print a lot of stuff so it really doesn't matter about cost per page... however if you do get an inkjet, it will pay to replace the cartridges after awhile. They dry up.
