I went to mtc and got my cdl in 15 days.when i got to werner i did my training in 6 wks then did a additional 40 hrs before testing out. when my training was over i got a choice of trucks. i choose the one i wanted from the start a pete 379 . i have completed all my training in the time i was told by recruiter and i have finished my first week solo . SOME PEOPLE BAD MOUTH WERNER AND THE TRAINING BUT I DID WHAT I PROMISED TO DO AND SO DID WERNER.MY TRAINING SEEMED TO TAKE FOREVER BUT IT WAS DONE WHEN I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE. I HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH WERNER SO FAR .BUT I HAD A GOOD TRAINER AND I HAVE A GOOD FLEET MANAGER SO FAR . I MADE IT HOME BY NOON THE DAY I REQUESTED TO BE HOME . I DID THE IRON MAN ALL TRAINING INCLUDING SCHOOL STRAIGHT THRU WITHOUT COMING HOME. IT WAS HARD AND IT TOOK 10 WKS BUT ITS ALL OVER AND IM HAPPY . I HAVE A 2006 PETERBUILT SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. I GOT TO SEE 41 OUT OF THE 48 STATES AND LIFE IS GOOD . MY WHOLE EXPERIENCE SO FAR WAS WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE. TRAINING IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT IF YOU WANNA BE MISERABLE YOU WILL BE .IF YOU ENJOY IT AND GO WITH THE FLOW ITS GREAT. IM VERY HAPPY WITH MY DECISION TO GO WERNER.

Uhhhhh, ...... was there a "question" in there, Rebell? :biggrin_25525:

ConGRADulations on your success with Werner and Big truck truckin'. :yes2557:
Only seven more states to go.
Have you been to Rhode Island yet?
That State has ONE Big truck truck stop with PLENTY of Big truck truck parking. Unlike Southern California which has many with few places to park. :biggrin_25523:

Keep up the good work and that good attitude. :yes2557: :biggrin_25519:

That's cool how they let you pick your truck. I figured they would give you a piece of #### old one that had 800K on it, not an 06 379!:yes2557:

Have you went on your first run yet, or are you just back from the training? I would like to hear what kind of runs they give you, keep us posted and good luck!

I went to Werner and did my extra 40 straight thru and wound up with a POS 04 379 with 400,000 on it. It was that or an 04 T600 with 350k and it was a recovery in Spokane, WA(I was in Portland, OR). Oh yeah and it smelled like stale cigarettes and I could not get to a terminal to get a new mattress. On my first day out the thing burned a gallon of oil, I got it to Lathrop, CA where they split my load put it in for repairs and let me go home. After my home time I went to pick up my truck and was told that there was no EFS authorization for payment. After 4 hours on the phone my cell phone died and the mechanic was closing up so I had to get a hotel which meant walking 1 mile each way to cash an EFS check and 3 calls from a pay phone to get the authorization for that check. Then the following morning the shuttle took me to the mechanic and it took me another 4 hours to get the EFS check for them. Then I sat for 1 1/2 days before I got a POS 10k load to Sacramento. I then sat for another day until I got another 10k load this time to Shasta Lake. I averaged no more than 1500 miles a week prior to having a wreck. Then I sat for 30 days without pay while they did an investigation and decided to terminate me and other than the fact that I am almost unemployable due to the wreck and the termination this is the best thing that could of happened. IMO Werner sucks but good luck to you and I hope they treat you better than they treated me.
