I think you have a point gpsman. I am sure the redundancies of driving do assist veteran drivers into taking things for granted or help the driver to overlook things. I can understand where you are coming from and think you brought up an interesting point. I guess drivers do get comfortable and some may even act crazy with their truck. I would have to wonder if it is just a maturity thing when they treat their trucks like four wheelers and motorcycles. Thanks for your post to this thread.

Not too many happy stories about PAM.
If you can get your CDL without signing up for slavery you'll be better off - The sign on bonus is usually a bogus carrot.didyoupassmeby Thanks this. -
I have been reading up on Pam and have seen bad reviews. Not only with PAM but with this ' Driver Solutions' place. I really dont want to bite the dirt going to this place. Does anyone know how reliable this Drivers Solution place is?
Or Even if PAM is a great place to work? -
I did the PAM/ Drivers Solutions thing like 7 years ago. Fairly crappy first year but I survived and moved on eventually. But like others have said, if you can get your cdl without becoming an indentured servant, that would be best.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

If a person has no way to pay for the school than his options are to either save up the money or become an indentured servant. Can you or anyone give me a reference to the best place to become an indentured servant? I really don't want to become one, but it seems to me that is the quickest way for me to get my CDL. Thanks for your reply. It really helps to hear the thoughts and opinions of others.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

four years ago i saw flier in north central arkansas that read a man would train you and allow you use his truck to test for your cdl for two hundred dollars. You would need to have the permit thought. Maybe you can find something similar in your area. Or ask some owner operator on this site

Driver Solutions/Pam isn't the only game in town to get your CDL in exchange for a year of service. There is Swift, Millis, Watkins Shepard, etc. PAM is a notoriously low paying company even by new driver standards. Do your research.sevenmph and didyoupassmeby Thank this.

Driver Solutions is not a trucking company or school. Its an employment agency for truckers and they help carriers and schools find drivers.Kind of like man power staffing agency.Pam pays driver solution for finding drivers and other companies and schools they work with.
