Yeah, see that's what I thought. I applied the first time to Central/Swift like a month and a half ago. I'm going to go ahead and try calling them today to see what's up. Like I said, I can't think of a single reason they don't want to hire me.

Also put an application in for Stevens. Those are really the only two that I am interested in. We shall see how that works out

Put in an application for Stevens and Prime Thursday night. Prime called back Friday afternoon. Got another call today and I have been approved to start with them on the 14th. Will be leaving via Greyhound Sunday. I'm both nervous and excited at the same time. Prime's "school" looks to be a little more thorough and I'm excited about that. Wish me luck!

Well, it all went well until I took the CDL test. I did everything else early and passed everything the first try. Had a pretty good trainer who never had a student bomb out until me. Always made it through the first two backing maneuvers with no points. One day I got the alley dock and I got it in there and was straight, but got an auto fail for "not turning your steer tires straight". Got the parallel a couple times and apparently had the trailer go a hair over the line each time somewhere. I only had a couple days of backing in and after a while, the trainer just didn't want to practice any more. There also seems to be something up with the examiners. One of them quit when I got there, for whatever reason. I just need to go somewhere that will let me get comfortable and confident in the backing. Ten to twelve hours of backing isn't going to cut it.

Gonna go to the local tech school here and do their trucking program. The next class doesn't start for a couple months. No more company sponsored whatever for me. I already owe Prime $3500 and I'm not looking to be churned anywhere else.

well that sucks. Backing is easily the hardest aspect of driving. You are not alone. If you are looking at a school Careers World Wide in Denver is pretty good. You spend 10 Hours a day in a truck 5 days a week for three weeks. Half of this is spent doing backing manuver. When we got to Stevens us CWW guys were way ahead of the guys that went to the Dallas s school... and we weren't perfect. I have heard bad things about Prime's training program btw and I am sorry to hear yours was no better.
