I've done that and then watched drivers fly by me and then smoke the tires trying to get stopped.

I always figured that when backing or doing other manuvers...if they were on at least I could show I tried when a 4-wheeler finally hits me.. Mandatory & citable in NM along roadsides. Friends stopped for some expensive soda & wee-wee breaks only to find love notes from the federales. Agree w/the slow moving & traffic ahead too. You've got me thinking on the go to sleep idea tho'.Ha!!

I use em below 45 - and at night getting up to speed from a ramp.Especially in 75 mph states.

Seen a car up under a trailer once in AZ, up a grade.

Band aid bus had lights off . . .

I don't remember being taught that in school but I was taught to use caution lights through construction zones

In calif going slow is not a hazard as all trucks are posted 15 to 10 mph less than cars..And they will cite you for using your hazard lights in a non hazard manner

36 Years and you dont know? What I cant understand is driving at a truck stop or shipper/receiver forward with hazards on, them when they do decide to back up, they cant because the driver behind them, JMO, but hazards should only be used for breakdowns, slow moving climbing a hill, or backing

It's just yet another of the "lost arts" when it comes to our industry....kinda like signaling lane changes, pulling up after fueling, not being a dill weed....
