Any more, they are causing more problems than they fix. Something has to give at this place.

... Wonderful statement. I really like that and good for you. Our country would be a much better place if we all had that honorable value. In my opinion anyway.:biggrin_25520:

""I always run legal but i think it takes too much thought to run illegal--kinda like covering up lies and I pretty much suck in that category."" :biggrin_25514:

The more I read in this forum about Roehl it would appear that I may not have been the only person that had a bad experience. Perhaps I am not the only "crybaby", as I have been labeled, that worked there.

I hope you don't let it worry you too much. Let em say whatever. None of us are very good at understanding someone else's feelings when it comes to unfavorable circumstances. But we sure expect everybody to understand ours because, well because it is just different with ours. You know what I mean. Seems to me sites like this were created to release some of your feelings and so that other people would learn from your experience and offer suggestions that might help. Sometimes it just seems like people want to jump on the bandwagon and condemm you for complaining about anything. I may not always understand how you feel but I will listen and try to. I will also appreciate your effort to pass on information that may be helpful. If I truly think you are a whiner, I will just quit reading your posts. But like I have said before, two of us can pick the same company to work for and while one of us may have a very good experience the other may have a very bad experience. Too many variables involved, different dispatcher, different trucks, routes, customers, etc., etc.. You get the picture. I like choc ice cream, you like vanilla. Anyway say what you want, I will try to be a part of the support group, not the stone throwers.

    Hey dhere One Tonner !
First off I would like to say I have 20 times more respect for the truck drivers now. I just finished training at Rohel on Friday march 20,2008. Wow, !!!!! Great school, great trainers. I had a blast.

It was tough, alot of information in such a short time. Study , Study, Study, and then study some more. Nothing to study to actually drive the truck, just practice when its your turn.

I was in the truck driving on the second day of school on the range. But by the fourth day I was driving out in the country, and on the fifth day I drove around town. Now that was cool...

Second week drive some more in the city making right and left turns and back out on the range to practice backing the truck and close quarter driving. Oh I forgot class room work every day too.

Third week much more driving to perfect skills needed to pass the cdl test. and class room work too.

I was just amazing to get all the information needed to pass the cdl in such a short time !!! At 1/3 the price of the other cdl training facilities.!!!

It was cold though.!!! But well worth it. If you have any questions fire away. I will answer the best I can for interested people.

I try.(apparently I try is too short of a message so I gotta beef it up a bit. So much for brevity. My wife must run this site as that she refuses to believe that yes and no are valid answers to a question.)

I get a kick out of these guys that spend twenty years behind a desk and then come out here and think this is some kinda of vacation.

I think Roehl does a very good job of holding the hands of students, I hate to think what your experience would have been at a real student mill like CRST or Swift.

The learning curve in trucking is very frustrating and expensive. Pick one company grit you teeth and stick with it for a year its gonna suck no matter where you go. it just takes time, no one part of this business is very hard, just a series of small details. Putting it all together, thats the trick....as my trainer used to say "its so very haaaard to make it look this easy".

I get a kick out of these guys that think everone that quits is a wuss or wimp or treating the job like a vacation. I have yet to meet anyone that quit over a "Petty" reason. I have meet many that quit over a series of petty reasons. Most of these folks that quit could have been saved just with a well placed offer of help. More communication coming down the chain to detect minor frustrations before they turn into big problems. Maybe doing some of that for a change we may actually keep some of these people by getting them over that rookie hump. Finnally nothing is funnier to me than some of our drivers who wish to draw a line between us and swift and other mills. Here's a clue. The only difference between us and them is the color of our trucks. Go look at an orientation class then wait three months and see how many you can find again. Go ahead it's like a scavanger hunt, it'll keep ya busy.
