As with any "Smart" phone it does come with a # of available GB to allow only that "Smart" phone to access the internet. To allow other external devices to connect via the "Hotspot" or "Internet Sharing" you "may" have to purchase a "Data" plan that will cover the usage of the "Hotspot"

If you don't have the "Data" plan for the "Hotspot" then the "Access Point" may not be active to allow the 720 to connect to the internet. It will see the broadcasted SSID, but no "access" is allowed to the internet.

First thing I thought of, so I checked my hotspot usage and I still had 4 Gb available.

I use a VPN on my laptop to bypass the meter on my hotspot, so I don't use that much of my data plan.

Quite a few Windows Phone users, who are mostly Nokia Lumia owners, have reported somewhat random issues with the Internet Sharing hot spot feature. We have been able to identify at least one issue with the operating system, and a workaround to avoid it.

It seems that the Windows Phone caches the DNS servers that it uses for Internet connectivity. If you use a lot of different Wifi connections, the chances are that there are several DNS server addresses cached to your phone. The problem is that when you enable the Internet Sharing functionality, thus opening a cellular data connection, the operating system may choose to use a cached DNS server that is not available via your mobile connection.

I read the article, and it sounds promising. One problem though... I can't find any DNS settings on my Lumia.

You will not find the Cache DNS settings. You need to see if your APN or Access Point is set up. Even thought you might show your carrier for part of it, your APN and possibly MMS might not be set up.

The access Point allows external devices to connect via the Internet Sharing.

Unplug from any power source and leave it off for 12 hours, charge on AC for 3 hours. Then press the reset button in while holding the on/off button for about 8 - 10 seconds. If it does not respond let me know.

How long ago did you buy this? Call Rand Customer Support and let them know of the issue and the steps you have done so far.

I would ask whoever is your carrier if you have to pay in order to be able to use your phone as a hot spot.You might have to pay a fee for that.

I just purchased a TND510 refurbished from RM. It functions well for the most part, however, I am having intermittent issues with the power connector from the 12 volt PS. I get a flickering, and sometimes it seems to not have a connection at all. I thought these were well known issues with these units and would think they would have corrected it before declaring a unit "refurbished". Is there a fix for this that doesn't include sending the unit back?

Lightly squeeze the end of the power cord. This will tighten it up, just be careful not to squeeze to much
