That is awesome info but I do not believe ODFL hires newbies. They are just starting school and the rate you quote is the top end of your pay scale. Something they would not achieve for years. USX hires newbie teams at .58 a mile. Last I heard Watkins Shepard was less than .40 a mile

Satan is in the small print. Read it again.
210k gross easy by year 3. Start at .58 cpm, hit .66cpm by YEAR 3. They'll take them after 1 year clean experience.
And by Year 3. YEAR 3. It'll be closer to 70 cpm anyway given the 1.5cpm - 2 cpm cost of living raise each year.
Better than staying at Watkins and Shepard for 10 years . . .TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Although I didn't post the question, thanks for all the responses. My wife and I are also getting ready for a career change. We will be moving to NE Kansas in June and also trying to get hooked up with a tolerable starter company.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
LOL, I did read it. My point was that they are looking for a place to start after cdl school. This information, while great, does the OP no good now.

Chicago ODFL has hired new CDL grads this year.
TruckDuo and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Decisions we made 7 years ago grossed us $350,000 more in that time, than if we had just been complacent. $350k has made a big difference to us now.

I'm lookin at early retirement for her, and part time for me. If I hadn't made certain decisions years ago, it wouldn't even be an option.
So, yeah. I THINK IT IS RELEVANT INFORMATION , and DOES them PLENTY of good now - if they can read between the lines.
Why repeat others mistakes when you can simply learn from them? Shall I run around reading your posts and judge the worthiness and relevance of them, or shall I shut up and watch others beat the same path in silence?TruckDuo Thanks this. -
