.26 per mile i would slap them in the face. I was making .29 per mile when i started with knight after the training with my trainer. Knight is not the greatest but by far is not the worst either. New Lakeland terminal too. Almost 2 years in with knight and i am at .37 to .46 per mile with knight. Miles? Plenty.
Get your dues in before you go local. Most local companies want drivers that did the over the road for at least 1 1/2 - 3 years. just want to make sure you will be able to handle the equipment and know directions.

Its a problem i already talk with my buddy and we both go with werner we going to do team , any advice for what should i bring to the trip m going to b out 6 week ,
-
I WILL tell you that I HAVE worked for BOTH of these and I CAN PROVE IT!! SO - with that said - DO NOT go to Covenant! Biggest reason is that pay is the poorest for noobs besides they try to 'team' you up with "strangers" or other noobs that may scare you with their habits or driving!! Swift is "mostly" family behind those office doors & if you piss off one 'it will' roll down hill - did it to me about a broke truck! BUT they are "number 1", TOP of the pole, in the USA! Schneider is #2, JB Hunt 3rd, & Werner is #4, & many, many others fall below this! ONCE you have started - "LOOK" at the other trucks that you will see out on the roads & KEEP track of ones that "interest you" & call to see what they offer & AFTER a year with a company you can switch!
I started at Werner and "would not" trade that for ANYTHING!! They were great, friendly, kept my truck repaired, two of the yards are driver friendly (Dallas & Atlanta, GA - Omaha is boring!). With that said - YES ALL companies DO HAVE issues - slow to go home, miles poor at times, long hours, poor pay on some weeks, trucks NOT really built for each driver & so it may be harder to drive (seat poor height, mirrors positioned poorly, slow as a dog up hills, governed to death, etc, etc) - ONLY YOU can check on these, way choices & options & then choose where to go!
MOST drivers coming OUT of Road Master schools - get numerous offers from MANY companies! Research, Research, Research - call, call, etc & see what is out there BEFORE you jump in to a place! -
So here's the update my with werner in lakeland waiting for my trainer the give me the dollar general account for training but every experience students told me to not to go with that account since I have to unload the truck by hand on every stop that sucks m still getting the 400 hundred bucks for double work .

have you ever tried to use the search function on this web, you get a million irrelevant threads, if you don't like the question don't respond, that's why it's called a forum people ask questions.
-
Yeah, I have, and I'm going to respond to questions as I see fit, regardless of whether or not it meets with your approval. Don't like it? Cry to someone who'll lend a sympathetic ear, because it sure as hell isn't going to be me.
By the way, the OP seems to have thought enough of that post to have left a 'thanks' for it, so he must not have seen a reason to get butthurt over it the way you did. Maybe you should know your place and not try policing the rest of us on this forum? -
Cypress has low earnings because of cheap freight. Melton has much better pay, but now has spy cameras in all their tractors.

This thread is over 2 years old!
Hopefully he's found a job by now!
IronWeasel80 Thanks this. -
People have a bad habit of not checking the last post date. They think "hey, this thread is on the first page so it must be new."
-
Yeah, I've done it before too.
I just wanted to give the guy a hard time.
