stay with a company truck until you kids understand trucking a little better. and stay away from a lease purchase plan,if later you decide to be o/o have some money saved and finance through a bank or good lender. if you do this your chances will improve about 100% over a lease purchase program. lots of luck

Neither are great options, BUT.....never do a lease purchase. If you want to go O/O long term there is great opertoonetiy but wait until you can afford the truck yourself Also I'd recommend teaming as a company driver before jumping into the O/O game. BUT, have some self respect and don't sign on with a bottom feeder.

Last new truck I drove averaged 4 to 5 days a month at the KW shop ,
while I spent time at the local motel .
Paccar MX series engine and it's emission system
was responsible .
No way a person could keep up with payments
at that rate of breakdown. -
4700 miles will not be $2350. That will be the gross driver pay, of which will be split 50/50 ... leaving you with 1175. Still not bad. Do not do the lease purchase. They are NOT NETTING 3-5k PER WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! You don't want to take a gamble on a new truck on when the emissions will cost you a fortune. Drive a company truck, if you make a good team they will pile the miles on. If they don't, find another company like blairandgretchen suggested, they seem to get plenty of miles at (was it ODFL?) A good team will never starve.

And check out Tyson too - as china suggested. I spoke to one if their drivers, not too bad a deal. -
If I was thinking about leasing,I would be asking lease drivers how they're doing rather then what recruiter and some sales person says.Team company driver doesn't sound too bad.

I think I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't net 3k-5k per week, unless they're talking about before you pay for the fuel. Tell them you want to see proof, and don't be surprised when they can't show it to you.
If drivers were netting that kind of money on a weekly basis after fuel, they'd have owner operators lined up around the block trying to get on with them. Add up their numbers, and you'll see just how impossible it is.
