Wow.. yeah thoughts and prayers ....

Dont know wny the truck was parked off to the side... but, another reminder to all of us to do a thorough pre-trip and to trip plan and manage our time... so we can avoid having to pull off he road and park where it just is not safe...

Lots can happen over the course of an 11 hour period no matter how much you plan. I think you can count on seeing more of this when e logs regs go into effect. Doesnt help much that safe parking places are becoming fewer. Then you have good old New York state closing down perfectly fine rest areas to "save cost".

Note "bud fox" - first comment on story.

    That's what the general public think . . .

Parked in shoulder accident - again. We don't need any more truck parking, right ??!

This was my response to "Bud Fox".

Hey Butt nugget, did you ever consider the fact that your crappy little state has almost ZERO places to park a big truck??? Maybe if we could park somewhere, AND NOT BE HARASSED BY SOME OVERZEALOUS NEO-NAZI COP, we wouldn't be so tired!!!

Bayle, Puppage, allniter and 1 other person Thank this.

I saw that first comment as well.. he does have a point that there are more and more unsafe truck drivers out there.. as far as drivi g to fast with too little following distance.. also, there are many drivers who are very complacent behind the wheel... not so long ago, I posted a thread where I was shocked when I passed another truck and when I rolled next to him I looked over to see no driver in the seat.. he was standing up between the seats getting something out of the cubby hole above the passenger... I was in disbelief... but, from the responses I got on the thread it is apparently a pretty common and not frowned upon practice.... I still dont and wont do it..

Well that area of Conn you have a better chance of running across the female Swedish volleyball team than you do a place to park! There are a few hiding spots but good luck getting them! As far as Buds comments, I can see his point, we as an industry have let standards slip both professionally and personally.

All because the MORONS in ct government refuse to build more rest areas , I should know I drive in ct on 84 and 95 daily and drivers are sleeping on the shoulders on the highway. Way to go Connecticut

    Puppage and truckerdave1970 Thank this.
