Did something stupid today... asked dsp to ask broker to reschedule my delivery cause I wanted to deliver earlier and receiver would not reschedule it with me but with the broker only...

My original appt. was on Thursday at 11:30 am. I requested for either tomorrow at 3 pm and no later than 3 pm or Thursday early morning...
Guess what... they rescheduled for tomorrow at 19:30 DARN!!! So... after empty, around 21:00 or so, I will be looking for a freaking parking place.... and the near truck stops will be full...
I have checked the area around... if receiver doesn't let me stay at their property for 10 hrs, will try to back to the dead end street, if possible... or maybe Walmart nearby... DARN!! DARN!! DARN!!
I apologized to my dsp for stupid my mistake... next time, if I can't reschedule by myself, will leave it alone... this was too much hassle for no little gain and got a worse result than before...

I'm at a truck stop in MO now.

 

Don't ask...just show up early. It's harder to say no to someone when there is eye contact!

Old Sea Story

A whaling ship was stranded in the doldrums of the South Pacific not a breath of wind for days
the crew beseeched the Captain to pray to get out of there
The Captain allowed how he wasn't very religious nor a praying man
but that he would try
He went to the bow reached into his pocket drew out a gold coin flung it into the ocean
yelling to the heavens
Lord if you would just send us some wind so we could continue on with our journey
I would be much obliged
With that he retired to his state room having no faith in any positive results
Hours later he awoke to hear the wind screaming thru the masts
and realized he was caught in a typhoon
He rushed topside and was heard to exclaim to the mate
If I knew wind was so cheap I would never have hired so much

 

Problem is, it happens sometimes that the customer really doesn't have any opening... I have an electronic log and don't want to start my hrs too early if I can avoid... Besides, some customers don't allow any parking in their property and I would have to use driving hrs to go park somewhere...
Some of the broker loads I get specifically say "by appointment only" and charge the broker if driver shows up too early or late.

 

Hey... I talked to my friend driver in my co. and he knows where I will be going tonight and gave me a few choices of places to park nearby around there... just in case I can go take my 10 after delivery. All will be fine... Shall see...
