Marten Transport - going to Cali but no Smartway "Green" trailer skirts etc??

Can I get a rub ? is that the same as "rubbing" one out ?

 

The reason Marten doesn't have skirting has nothing to do with how much fuel they buy in California. It also has nothing to do with intermodal, the amount of trailers, or that they are not like anybody else.

The true reason Marten isn't running with all of the required skirting was a lawsuit they had filed. All of their trailers are in compliance as far as the reefer units go and that is it. When California started requiring the skirting Marten filed a lawsuit. It has gone to court and they have received an extension on the deadline they have to meet the regulations in California. Their argument was that their equipment is not registered in the state of California. With that as their argument and a few dollars, Marten bought their way exemption for awhile on the aerodynamic trailer equipment.

i have just been in a meeting back east that was regarding compliance, regulations, HOS, etc. it's amazing what a dollar can buy.
