Your assuming that driver can speak and read
english. Plenty of drivers up in that area are from
foriegn countries and cant read the signs that are
posted in english. They also use the metric system in other countries so they get confused
driving in this country. I think recently i read that a whole bunch of drivers in NY where getting other
people to take the CDL test for them.

I read that NY fines for commercial vehicles on the parkway is $150.00 and for hitting the bridge it's another $150.00.NY is talking about raising the fine to $5000.00 as it should be.I bet this driver was trying to find a way to avoid the tolls and didn't even glance at the atlas. What about the person that filmed this,he knew something bad was going to happen and had plenty of time to warn the driver.Would any of you have tried to warn the driver?,
mje Thanks this. -
No tolls to avoid on Long Island...Sly Fox Thanks this.

There isn't any tolls going to or getting out of the island?
mje Thanks this. -
Yes Patty there are tolls from NYC to LI but on LI there aren't any tolls to avoid and where he was there certainly were no tolls... basically other than the bridges to get to LI there are no tolls.pattyj Thanks this.

How exactly would somebody warn the driver in this day and age where truckers "don't need a cb" (as you said yourself).
Pull up alongside him and act like an idiot to get his attention? Then he thinks you're an idiot & ignores you.
Now see, if both parties had a cb, problem solved in short order. But people are too interested playing movie director on their cell phones to give two damns about anyone else.pattyj Thanks this. -
Isn't one of the first things a driver learns is to not drive on the Parkways in NY? Even if he's foreign, you think someone would have told him.
He might just get another loan and another $15,000 truck and get right back out there. Or team with a family member or fellow from the same country. That way they can get loads there quick but nobody has to know he's driving. -
Now thats Funny!!!!
