Our company shop has installed the wrong landing gear on more than one occasion (many different trailer manufacturer). The incorrect one's were low enough to drag speed bumps cranked all the way up...we had 2 trucks go over the same set of tracks, truck 1 cleared them no problem, truck 2, with wrong gear, caught the sand shoe on the 1st rail and inverted the front of the shoe(was rolling faster than idle since it was on a public street.) So maybe this is the case here....most trucks clear it, but wrong truck in wrong place at the wrong time.

Thank you, now I can sleep at night.gpsman Thanks this.

Very strange video, the first thing I noticed was how quickly the train stopped, the driver was no where to be found, the tractor was never shown, the video was of unusually poor quality..

The truck is on the other side. Driver is also probably over there also. The train was going slow but not that slow. I see your point.Last edited by a moderator: May 9, 2015

I bet those kids went home with bellies full of watermelon!
platinum Thanks this. -
They were kids, I wouldnt say punks at all. Driver messed up and hung it on tracks or stopped on them, either way. He was driving, not kids fault because they seen it and filmed it. Could of been filming a lot of other things worse.

There are drivers out there without cells phones still. I ran into a surprising amount of them when I was at the pumpkin patch. So not out of the question that he couldnt call the RR. Wrong landing gear is a slight possibility, not cranked up all the way would be very high. Stalled out not likely unless he ran out of fuel.
