I myself am doing everything possible to clean up my credit and trying to stay out of debt. However, bad credit should NOT be a criteria for someone's trucking career. A truck driver's credit is sole his or her business, no one else's.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

From what I have read here over the years many trucking careers started with 'stupidity'. Maybe not careers, but at least some of the trucking jobs. :)

Would a person who has bad credit, owes much, in debt up to their neck, be more apt to cheat his boss?

I knew a fellow once who owed 3 or 4 trucks, he would not hire no one if they would not steal fuel to make the trips to the west coast & back. When he got down to one truck he got caught stealing fuel at a truck stop in California, place in jail, & that night he got the beating of his life.

    1. Fatalities

    2. Finally coming to realization that enough is enough with DOT, parking issues, motoring public, lies from your employer, and waiting several hours to load and unload.

    3. Better paying job that have you home every night with little or no stress involved

    4. Momma or Daddy( for female driver) saying its her or the highway(no pun intended), or that little one saying momma or daddy I don t want you to go. these are some of the few things that I think can end a career

The list is too long to put in one post.

Most of the time it all depends on the person and what they did or do. Most of those who end up being frustrated and ending their jobs in this industry to me seem to be the ones who don't understand that it isn't just a job but a lifestyle that needs to be looked after all the time.

Going hand in hand with that is the firm fact that a CDL isn't the end of a person's training but just the license to learn. We learn every day, there are no experts in this industry and if there were, they would be billionaires not needing to drive.

One of my biggest issues with many drivers today is that they can't reconginze their own bad driving habits. Too many still think that driving a truck is like driving a car or a pickup and think that they own the road.

The same thing that ended mine.....retirement......! But , all joking aside anything that causes you to loose your health certifications , heart problems , back surgeries ( fusions etc) , UN-controled /insulin dependent diabetes , vision problems where you can't pass the minimum 20/40 in each eye , roll-over's , DUI's , drug addictions , accidents w/ fatalities involving alcohol/drugs......the list is long....

Didn't mean to hit your nerves there buddy - maybe not so much in this industry, but many others consider it. Also factors into insurance premiums.

I know first hand bad credit is not always the individual s fault.
Wife has 750+ , but only after 10 years out from a bankruptcy to remove the ex husbands debt.
