Wife & I team. We make about $1,000 - $1,500 gross a week with a 4,700 mile guarantee. Mostly terminal to terminal, drop and hook.

Trucks always moving is the downside. Other than that.....we love it.....then again I team with my wife and not some stranger.

    1. Longer runs
    2. Better equipment
    3. See more of the country
    4. More drop & hook loads
    5. Higher priority when the truck is in the company shop

You'll make on average 15% more teaming. It's best with husband and wife, due to fringe benefits and all the money goes in one account. Downside is trying to sleep in moving truck on our pothole ridden interstates. Spent a year doing it. the money is good but it's a hard life. Can't say I wouldn't do it again, but only if I have to. Sleep is precious in this business.

teaming makes good money because teams are treated better than solos. they get the frieght there twice as fast which makes the company more money.

as others have said, trying to sleep on these wonderful roads is near impossible. some states are bad all the way through. you will get thrown into the floor the potholes are so bad and will bounce you out of bed. all your stuff falls out of the cabinets. sometimes you just have to stop for a few hours to get some decent sleep.

I team with my husband. I would not be able to stand teaming with anyone other than him.

We enjoy seeing the country together and working together as a team. We've learned a lot about each other since being in a small space 24/7. :biggrin_25520: Lol

We don't make good money right now because we are newbies working our way up the chain. Our company keeps us moving, no complaints there.

as others have said, trying to sleep in a moving truck is very difficult. you will not get good, restful sleep very often.

Good side is the company gave us a brand new truck. We get 2300-2500 mile runs across the country instead of lots of short runs. I always have someone with me to help me with whatever I need help with. Moving tandems is easier with two people! I'm not scared at truckstops because my hubby is with me.

sometimes we just stop the truck for a few hours and sit still so we can get some sleep. then we wake up and haul butt again!

I saw a husband and wife team backing into a spot just yesterday, although the husband was helping from the sleeper. She was in the drivers seat, he was standing behind her running the steering wheel. The truck beside them laid on the horn once and he apparently corrected in time since I didn't hear any metal to metal, or cursing. Talk about idiotic driving practices. .. hell it wasn't even a tight spot. She had all the room in the world in front of her..
