It is very nerve racking to have someone evaluate you in this type of situation. What I have to say is, if you keep trying to be successful at anything, if you really want it, it will happen. After this test, you will be continuously tested in this profession due to the variables of the road, docks, traffic, tight situations with the large vehicles we maneuver and the attitudes that are other-than-acceptable. However, working at it everyday, you will become an expert. With that, and back to the test, the test is really two fold, they want to be sure you have the basics to qualify for this job, but two, they make money on this test as well. This test will not ensure you are successful as a trucker. A too confident testee can pass with flying colors and have a horrific wreck within weeks of doing so. I think, if you are still wanting it, you will respect the fact that it is a dangerous job, but knowing that, and being careful, constantly honing your skills, you could be one of the safest and most productive trucker on the road. Always remain humble and appreciate this profession if you really want it. It can be very rewarding. Some notes to take notice of, you will find a lot of people who confidently communicate in a negative manner, but find the people who are willing to help. Good luck.
Failed cdl test 3x...am now questioning if trucking's really for me

***UPDATE***
I finally passed! After months of delays and standby DMV visits where my name was never called, I got in this time, and passed. I was well-prepared, having gone back several times to my school to practice before each of my standby visits hoping for a chance to test. So I am now the holder of a CDL class A! Woot!superpet39, KiLLaZiLLa93, DriverToBroker and 3 others Thank this. -

Congratulations!
I passed my pre-trip and then just barely made a cone quiver on my curved backing test, which was an instant failure my first time out. I got rattled by the test pressure ... test examiners dressed like state troopers and all that, it got inside my head.
Be proud of that Class A license. -
I'm going to give ya'll a tip on nerves. They are defused by strong emotion. For me anger works best. We've all seen boxers use this technique pre fight.
