Hi,
I live near Elgin, Illinois. Can you please recommend some "GOOD" companies for a recent CDL-A grad.
Thank you,
Ken

Check out Con-way

What are you looking to pull? You're right next to Chicago so you should have several to choose from. Did your school help with placement or are they trying to steer you toward the larger carriers?
If you're interested in tanker you may want to check out Schneider or Superior carriers. -
Yes, there were some recruiters that came through. Most were for the "big" companies. Im hoping for regional work for now.
-
Can you land a job right out of school driving tanker?
-
Schneider hires new drivers.
-
As does Superior if they approve of the school you went to.
Dry van regional (smaller co.) you may want to look at HO Wolding. There was a thread that had a lot of activity on here about them until Weeble moved to the west coat. -
Thank you. I applied to H.O.W. while still in school. My application was declined because I did not meet their requirement for verifiable work history during the previous 3 years. With other companies this appears to be a non issue.
-
They do get my interest because they're smaller than most of the other companies. Garner out of OH might be an option. I don't know how much Chicago freight they have but they're regional. There's a thread on here about them as well.

Millis transfer hires newbies. They're a pretty good midsized outfit.
jimbo29 Thanks this.
