Another example of what's wrong with the drivers in this business...nobody slows down for anyone broke down on the shoulder...it's a major problem anymore.

Sometimes in traffic, you run up on a shoulder vehicle and have no time or ability to move over, triangles or not. Sometimes a bend in the road or hill means you don't see the vehicle until you are too close to get slowed down much, and too often a vehicle that could help to let you mve over, WILL NOT help even the slightest. Then people wonder why many prefer to drive one lane over from the right (middle lane) in 3 or more lanes.

In New Jersey on I-78 that same afternoon. There was a truck right on the shoulder with a blown trailer tire driver side. I think it may have been a garbage truck. Anyway a tech was standing on the fog line practically working with the tire. What made it extremely dangerour is the driver could have driven another quarter mile to where he was not just around a bend in the road. But as it was, I would not have worked that job without the driver moving the vehicle or having police run blocker further back.

they only made the law over for emergency vehicles, everyone else is on the shoulder at their own risk

I was trained to move over for any type of vehicles, even abandoned vehicles. I put my signal on even if I can't move over.

See that's the problem... I guess you're one of those who fly by a broke down big truck because it's not an emergency vehicle...no wonder the general public thinks of us as they do...good grief.
