You didnt correctly read my post. I am talking about parking on the far right lane of a road (typically 3-4 lane roads in both directions, in thr cities u know) that trucks are allowed to be on.

The shoulder? or an actual traffic lane? If it's the latter, that's not going to work well.

In my home town, drivers coming from the port often park in the middle/turn lane and run into hardees. I've never done that, that isn't that bad of an idea as long as you're not blocking anything.

i know what you're talkin about....drivers do it alot in chicago. 2 lane road each way, a driver will stop and throw his flashers on. so now everybody has to merge over. usually they do it while light traffic so it doesn't cause traffic to back up. 30-35mph zone so nothin to bad. i personally dont do it.

Big cities don't count--besides that's what Bus Stops are for right? Ever notice there's always a coffee shop/deli/DD or sumthin by a Bus Stop? Always works for me--course in NYC it pisses the cabbies off cuz they think that's THEIR pvt parkin spaces...but I hate most of those arrogant ####### anyway.....

Its the actual right lane you know that turns into a right turn only. I see truckers do it all the time but its because they are unloading freight.

I don't mess with the bus stops in NYC - the bus drivers are always nice and move when I need to make a tight turn. So I leave their space alone. I just double park in the travel lane. Nobody even gets mad about it; they're used to it.

Heck, I was sitting in my truck on the street waiting to make a blind side back into a dock. I had a pickup truck blocked in, and the guy came out to leave. He didn't even come and ask me to let him out (I would have), he just worked his truck back and forth until he got it up on the sidewalk, then drove off.
