Precisely the reason(or one of the reasons at the very least) I told Crete where they could shove their truck, their office staff and their boss. (And even offered to assist, but only if they removed their head from that specific place first). Like I've always said, Crete plans for yesterday, not tomorrow...and I wouldn't be surprised if the office manager has to call most of them every morning and remind them that they have to come to work again today...most couldn't plan their way out of a paper bag...and couldn't pour whizz out of a cup with the directions on the bottom.

Picked up a 721 mile load Fri morning that live offloaded at 1500 Mon .... they claimed that was all that was avl, this will need to get tcalled enroute, ##*manager sets up tcall 635 miles down the road at the drop yard. I said they need to plan ahead that I will be bobtail afterwards due to that place never having mt's. What happens I tcall Sat afternoon and like I said no mt's.....and nobody did no #### planning ahead. So I sit rest of Sat and Sun evening jackwagons try to give the same load back to me...NOPE. About 0400 Mon morning I get a message saying GO TO THIS PLACE as they have several mt's. I go line 5 and bobtail over to get me one and the customer yard is locked up....CRAP. I get another message...go back to the drop yard we just had a tcall drop there that is ready...I run the 7 miles back and sure enough I am ready to go. I wait until 0500 so I can send in my 34 restart (on elogs) and I hook up and run with a fresh 70. This afternoon I get a message to call logs about line 5 movement....They cancelled out my restart even though I was not getting paid bobtail to run over to check on some supposedly mt trls.....WHAT A CROCK !

yep, I tried to line 5 the goose chases but they said "no go, Joe" I can't even line 5 bobtailing from my house to the terminal when coming off of home time. I can line 5 going home but big whoopidy doo doo since I will be home for 4 days...haha
Oh and BTW, I make them add the routing for the goose chases. Once they had me go to two different places and a total of 100+ miles to find an MT. -
Picked up a good load from arkanas city, AR to clintonville, WI
Next weeks check should be really good -
you are driving at the direction of the company... not personal conveyance.

Looks like I might need to over night park at the New Kingstown terminal. Never been there before. Where should I park? Looks like we have equipment on both sides of the street looking at Google.

It use to be company policy that line 5 time had to start and end at the same location. It they're gonna allow him line 5 home, the it would require a line 5 back to the point of origin...or else if directed as you state...have to compensate him for the miles. If he were hauling a trailer...then no line 5 either way.
The easiest way to solve it...if at home, don't answer the phone, don't reply to ANY message until he returned to the terminal, at which point accepting a load or hunting an empty to accept a load would then be duty time...if they want to split hairs...make 'em split it exactly down the middle. -
I was told I would have to be going back to the terminal to hook to the same trlr I dropped. But often times I will drop at say Kelloggs in Lewisville and bob home. And then sometimes I'm dispatched from home to bob to shipper. If dispatched from home I make them route me from home to p/u point. They won't pay me to bob home for home time though...haha

So, according to that way of thinking, if you t'call a load and take a break, then bobtail to Wally and back...that trip to Wally can't be logged on line 5 because someone else picked up the t'called load so you can't pick up the same trailer...glad I always had room to park my truck and trailer at home...can't tell you how much I DON'T miss that nit picky b.s. one little bit
