I have been in the transportation business for many years as both a driver and later as an owner. My current business involves specialized hauling. Over the years we have made quite a list of contacts and most have been great people. Some not so great. I was calling a no pay customer and the only number I had for them was the driver involved at the time. I called him and he gladly gave me the number of the owners son , but also told me something that shocked me. He said he had to find other work because they owed him over 5 grand. I asked him if they had gone bankrupt and he said no and they had been doing this for over 30 years. I guess my 800.00 invoice is a good lesson learned. I always worked for employers that had to pay. should I post there name here?

Information is power. You could save other owners $$$

What's the point in starting this thread in this section if you don't plan on naming the company?
-
That would certainly be helpful to us.

So many companys are not paying for the trucker/driver services. One must consider the hours invested in our career field. Base all on a hourly wage!
time away from our homes is what I am talking about !!!!!
We as drivers ( old guys, all the way down to the new drivers MUST ALL CONSIDER ) our time at work starts as we leave our home and family.
We as drivers are being taken advantage of by darn near every company out their today. Holding back pay, sign on bonuses that are not sign on bonuses, Look at these new guys and the pay they are recieving / forced into having too accept it for what it is.
I am so embarrased by what we truckers/drivers have allowed our Company/contractors/managers to do with our wage. Guys and Gals we have always been in control of this ..... My Family deserves Meat on the table. I suspect yours does too. When I get home from 4 weeks out I should be able (finacially) to take a few off without $$$ concerns. IS THE ANSER PARK THE TRUCKS .
Most larger companys have all gone to their gimmick/recruiter gimmick of mass hiring tatics too fill seats for LESS $. and we are all being taken advantage of while we pic ea. other apart for posting something like this. I never intended on joining this site or posting anything on it ever. athough I am sick of working 24/7 X 4 for bird seed in pay ( based on all time away from home to the time i get homeagain.) My feeelings are we as truckers / drivers should be pd well for all aspects of our career field. ITS SAFER THAT WAY ! I am sad we have too read about companys not paying their drivers at all, or oweing them , or holding back pay. -
What I am thinking is Yes there is too many bad companys out their when it comes to paying a Driver what a driver deserves to get paid. Note if he or she is a bad driver well then that is in control of the company.
When it comes to income the company pays us drivers no one is more responsible for this wage/rate/pay then us Drivers/truckers. (We SET IT !!! ). We are in control of our income ( Needs ). I think we have been sleeping on this way too long. I would like a T-bone steak and 2lbs. of burger in my fridge , we can blame all on inflation, what ever ! we are incontrol , we just need to start standing together and do something about it. -
As drivers you "deserve" nothing, our pay is based on what we are willing to accepted...No company cares about you, heck even some friends & family members could care less about you,the more drivers that reject horrible pay and or no pay for the things we are expected to do the more they must pay to get us to get it done...

Nobody is being forced to accept anything. For whatever reason drivers accept crap pay but it's not by force. If you need meat on the table and you can't put it there by trucking then find another line of work. When drivers stop working for crap pay they'll stop earning crap pay.

I agree , nobody wants too work for a weekly/monthly /yearly income that is clearly too low. Your correct all new and vet drivers and all inbetween should not consider the employment. One must consider the hours invested in your week/month and year. ask yourself what would you like to bring home for the effort. For all those out their that think they are so smart bringing home a weekly check of 1000.00 before taxes and road expenses , and have not seen the home and family , and you are happy working for your company, I say good for you. Stay where you are for the next 20 years or 30 years, retire from that job. OR do your math ! how much were you working for per hour ? use the hours per day ( a Base pay ). Your accountants do , ASK ! I agree if your happy stay ! if your being taken advantage of Run. look for a new job.
