I wish I could afford to switch over to super singles. I've heard it makes for better fuel economy.

Hopefully Bad Monkey knows that Mercer has a National account for tires which amounts to quite a discount on new tires.
Though alot of places charge more for mounting and balancing if using the national account.

Yes I do, but I bought the truck with them so I can't compare to duels. My rig is averaging 6.6 in june but that includes a lot of hammer down time. I like them and I'm going to keep them. Skate, I cant get the yokahamas at my local tire store under mercers account, even so there the same price as bridgestones but i want the yokes for better snow traction. Bigdubber, the other pro of singles is lighter weight which my rig is pretty light already but you have a heavy tractor they can help. About the worst thing so far is in smeary mud they are less than worthless, though that probably is because there worn down pretty far. I have heard that if you do a lot of high speed empty or very light running they will wear in the center pretty bad because they will ballon out similar to a drag tire.

I am running super singles. My fuel mileage is bad due to a lot of regen problems with my cat. I pull a skateboard also, but I can tell you I have zero complaints about the tires. Even in the winter they held up good. Easier to check psi and wear, I chained up once and it was way easier than chaining duals. I roll on the michellins xda 2s. I'm replacing with the same since I dont want to sacrifice traction for less rolling resistance of the energy ones.

Lucar, I had to chain up once last winter and boy did I get sick of the vibration! I think I going to try autosocks this year if they make them in my size.

might want to consider somewhere besides local shop, the bridgestones I last got were 729 bucks I got em for 405 plus mounting, right across the river from Louisville.

I have a set of michlien xda energys and I'm pleased. There is do much hate having to do with all super singles and most if not all is all BS from drivers who never used them. I ran for three years across 80 from CA to Denver through WY. I never broke loose any more than when I ran duals. They are approx 400lbs lighter than duals in the drive or trlr positions. That's the reason why I run them since I idle and ruin my mpg's. I like them.
