Safe haven is ONLY allowed if your pulling a hazmat load. There is no safe haven for regular freight. If you try to use safe haven and your not hazmat your just driving illegally.

you guys realize your ### is grass if you get into an accident after your 14th hour is up, and your "just doing the company a favor", creepin down to the truckstop slowly, trying to cheat your e logs, right? might as well hand in your cdl, at that point...

Try not to make it a habit that you run out of hrs at the customer. You need to keep on top on your hrs and if you feel you wont have enough hrs to unload and find a safe haven, you tell your dispatcher asap and he will find you a swap or reschedule. But first call the customer to see if they have overnite parking.

    So what's the best solution?
    1) Ask nicely if you can park there.
    2) If not allowed to stay, move the truck to the nearest safe parking place.
    3) Maybe call the cops and ask them where you can park and get an escort there for the sake of public safety?
    4) Try to plan so as not to run out of hours.
    5) Don't be a douche nozzle.

personal conveyance should be in bobtail only, no trailer attached even if trl is mt

i have heard of drivers disconnecting from trailer before their 14 hours are up, bobtailing to a place to park for 10 hrs, then going back to trailer, with shipper/receiver's permission, of course; theoretically, if one is bobtailing, personal conveyance after the 14 hours could apply

Broke down in front of the customer. After 6 hours the guard told me everybody left and I can't park here. Called the county cops and got an escort to the nearest truck stop. Didn't check my logs, no inspection, no ticket.

This topic is like a weekly thing here. The points that get brought out every time:

    1. the term "safe haven" It does not apply to being out of legal driving time. Check this out--http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/trucking-industry-regulations/256750-safe-haven-versus-adverse-conditions-refresher.html

    2. The acronym "PC". As a regulation or rule this doesn't exist. PC is only found in the interpretations to 395.8, question 26. It in itself is only an interpretation. And it has limitations and restrictions. See--http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/trucking-industry-regulations/250728-off-duty-driving.html?highlight=personal+conveyance

Make up your minds people. Either Christianity stands for evil and is the worst problem in the world along with other religions such as Islam, or it is a force for good.

Gotta love the hypocrisy on your side.
