I got my cdl in 2006 but I have zero experience can someone tell me some options on how to get started. Would it be a good idea to take a refresher course from a school or do some companies offer refresher courses.

Unless you can find someone willing to take a chance (not likely) you will be attending a school as a new driver.

Some CDL schools offer refresher courses for CDL holders that have not driven in awhile. You can use that towards a starter company.

Question is, is your CDL still valid and have you kept up with your DOT physicals? New laws require you to register your DOT physical with your state's licensing division. If you don't do it, they may have downgraded you to a Class D anyway. In which case, you would have to start over.

Best way is to attend a community college CDL school.

If you can't do that, then look at Millis Transfer CDL school.

You can try to find an o/o who will train you for a month if you are lucky.
