Wonder how long the class action law suit will take.
X-Country Thanks this. -
I know a guy that uses around 160 gb a month, he's gonna be pissed!
-
idk why they cap/reduce internet speed. Probably for more $$$$. The internet is now a huge part of people lives. It's right next to oxygen lol. it should be uncap, if you pay for unlimited you should get unlimited. These providers are discriminating user because they use more internet than grandma/grandpa. If some 400lb guy suck in more oxygen would the government cap him? no that's his lifestyle. Net neutrality law needs to pass
-
Because they can, I had a 45 minutes screaming match with DirecTV Wednesday, and as bad as Dish sucks, if I can get the one channel I want, DirecTV's equipment will be laying in the middle of the highway in front of my house for them to pick up. -
with all the things we stream over the internet these days. you had to see it coming.
hopefully, someday, they'll get so carried away with their throttling, that congress will step in for a ban on throttle.
i know the FCC was already in a battle with verizon over their ridiculous over the top pricing. don't know if that battle is still going on. -
If you feel that way, maybe you should build your own internet network and allow everyone in the world to stream unlimited HD movies for a fixed price if it's all so easy and "just happens" and has no limitations. Streaming HD movies is taxing all ISP's to their breaking part and it costs a fortune to keep growing their capacity to serve all with a decent speed.
The people who are getting screwed are the ones paying for 5 or whatever gigs/month and rarely use more then 1 gig. They have a legitimate complaint. And as such, it should ALL be pay for what you use, no more, no less. Just build a sliding volume scale where gig price reduces as you consume more.TomOfTx, 88 Alpha and mickimause Thank this. -
Since they messed up my contract when I went back to Verizon I'm not currently Month-to-Month.
Also the 4.7 gigs is RIDICULOUSLY low. -
It's those guys that are why we are we are having this conversation. But there's always going to be a certain number of consumers who eat MUCH more then everyone else and ruin it for the rest.
But rationing is coming folks, rationing in more areas then you think so don't be surprised when it happens ... internet access, fuel, electricity, health care, food, water ... I'll be dead before it happens, but I can't be too optimistic for my young kids. -
no argument from me, he's a total glutton, streams netflix constantly and when he's not doing that he's streaming baseball games.
