    Side note -

Two fairly active recent members of this forum have since left W&S after nearly going broke there . . . I wish they'd return and post their experience there instead of having asked a ton of questions about W&S, been warned off them, and signing on anyhow.

    unholy7 Thanks this.

Tantara out of Muscatine, IA is very good as well. They are iffy on trainees but it all depends on how many ppl they are training at that time. I started there fresh out of school.

Deliver to a few grocery warehouses a few times and the prison nut ward would start looking good. You would think, "So, this is where they go after being paroled!"

Decker Truck Lines has Southeast regional or OTR. They do hire new CDL grads sometimes. Just built a new $2 million dollar terminal in Bessemer.

    Halvor Lines
    Cypress Truck Lines
    Keim TS
Howard Transportation - one of their terminals is in Kenly, NC

To make it to Central Prison (Raleigh, NC) you need to be sentenced to a minimum of 280 months or a safekeeper facing 1st degree murder charges..LOL, but I know what you mean. Heck, most of the people I work with could be on either side of the cell door!! I really do love my job, but it just doesn't pay and state benefits aren't great at all. I've always wanted to try this and the opportunity has come around, so I'm going to go for it!!

Boyd Bros does take trainees. My bf drives for them and has since Oct of last year. They have been good not only to him but the family as a whole. During his training he was home every other weekend and in a motel the others (his trainer did not live near by so bf was in hotel during trainers hometime). He is home most weekends unless he chooses to stay out. His lowest miles were 1500 and his truck was in the shop for part of that week (breakdown pay and he was in a hotel). They offer tuition reimbursement as well. My bf runs through your area quite frequently as well.

You'll have to look for their hiring areas though...

280 months = 23 years + 4 months. That is a long stretch of time.

    23 years X 12 months = 276 months.

    276 months + 4 months = 280 months.

Unfortunately, that is minor for someone doing life without parole. There are inmates who have exceeded 30 years, 40 years, possibly 50 years.

    HOLY MOSES!
