Actually, we have actual trained diesel repair personnel, but(and this is my speculation) the same person (department) that hires shop people, also hires the people who make the plastic, sweep the floor, or engineer new products. Therein lies the problem. Someone who is in charge of a shop should have some input as to the person being hired to work for him. I bet my last dollar that if the Uranium 238 demodulator(borrowed technology from Marvin the Martian) or the gerfrigin deflatchulator (a made up word for a machine used in the manufacturing process that I know nothing about)...if it kept breaking down, the same way, over and over, they'd have a new hard hat wearing tool belt toter on that machine in a second.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

nobody's going nowhere.
Its a corporation
Not a trucking company.
If it were mom and pop outfit
heads would roll.
Its hard to remember , Poly isn't like
any one else or a " regular " trucking company.
I myself need to stop looking at them through the
lens of a trucking company and see them as they are in reality.Last edited: Aug 24, 2014

Besides, in todays trucking market with fuel prices the way they are...freight rates are probably in the $2.50-$3.00/mile for outside carriers...that's why we have an 8000 mile/month requirement. That covers expenses...both fixed and variable.Last edited: Aug 24, 2014
Mev and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Poly Trucking must be one heck of a valueable write off for PA if that's the case.
A mom and pop trucking company with equipment troubles equal to Polys would
be belly up in a very short amount of time.
this outfit is unique -
In a lucky sort of way , we got it pretty darn good -

Speaking of equipment...my mpg's have gotten bad. Between GP and Albuquerque, 4.8...between Albuquerque and Kingman, 3.9 (I filled a 2nd time just to see if it improved any, it ran a little better today).
And...Poly West had my Tuesday load already loaded...so no siesta at the Fiesta for me. -
I imagine its small like Up North. -
