Press the reset button and hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. Then release. See if this helps.
Thanks,

Side note, this input box is extremely glitchy on my phone... took me seven tries to actually get my words to go into the correct order on that last reply because the cursor decided to go wherever it wanted.

Does RM give a discount if you trade in an older unit towards purchasing a new one?

Thanks,

well here goes, background on myself first
electronics hobbyist all my life. trucker most of the past 40 years
Expedited Team drivers with my wife. on the road 6500 to 7000 miles every week
have owned or tested the tnd 500,510,700,710,720 and just to be fair the garmin dezl 560 and the pcmiler 430
now on to the new 730
first I purchased the first unit I actually found on a retail shelf (Petro Kingdom City, MO) Wednesday the 27th
Pros:
I really like the new shape of the unit it is smaller then the 720 was with the same screen size
they (RM) have finally listened to the drivers and changed the power cable to a 90 degree drop cable this along with the new clips on the mount
should end the power problem we were plagued with where the usb plug needed to be squeezed every so often to tighten the connection and stop it falling out.
I personally believe that the power connection problem caused 95% of all the 720's problems
I also really like the new UI themes (ICE) is my personal favorite
the new hardware is at least 4 times faster completing the route
being on e-logs the new feature of being able to turn off all reference to the logs was a godsend
the new UI is much easier to read at night
you can also hide most of the interface so most of what you see is map now
the search feature in the address book is excellent it was getting hard to go through the 600 saved locations in mine (really need to get rid of some of them)
the onboard storage has doubled from the 720
all of the ramp and map errors (that I have checked) are repaired in the new set of maps
Cons:
at this point none I have found but I'm sure I will as time goes by (it is electronic you know)
will update when I've had some more time to play with it
Jeffmattbnr, Mark Kling and SavageSam Thank this. -
Ah well...broke down and purchased a 730 (gotta have latest toys). MUCH faster than 720. Just a quick question. How does the unit bring up toll pricing info when comparing routes? Currently at T/A in Richmond VA and going to Edison NJ. I know that the routes given when comparing will have us go onto the Jersy Turnpike which is toll. It does not show toll amount which I thought the 730 will do.
Addenda: will still lock up when using Traffic Everywhere, but only when plugged into 12v power cord. Works great on battery mode thoLast edited: Sep 1, 2014

As far as the Traffic, I will have to test here. My 730 is coming this week. Let me know what area.
Thanks,
Mark
