Basically the same? They don't even have the same president. And Crete trucks pull reefer units a fraction of the time, shaffer pulls them almost always. There is a HUGE difference, not tto mention pay scale.

They share colors. They have to after shaffer bought overweight trucks and had to get red ones from Crete, so Crete got stuck with the heavier blue trucks...and they've been sharing ever since. And my uncle drove for shaffer for 7 years. They used to screw with him all the time, and he could never transfer to Crete. They eventually fired him for complaining about shaffer using unqualified people to test for sleep apnea. They were giving out diagnosis without a doctor present, and put sleep apnea on his DAC report despite not being confirmed by a doctor. When he threatened to sue, they told him he wasn't welcome back.
Crete is a totally different company, and their employees are great people. The entire reason hunt went to crap was because their current president isn't a flatbed guy. He came from shaffer. They are a breaking ground for all Crete related problems. -
No wonder Shaffer pays .02 CPM more than the hunt flatbed drivers.
I don't mind.. guess why
Shaffer, Crete and hunt are ALL the same company.
It's just the name of their different divisions.. Reefer, Dry Van and flatbed.Last edited: Sep 27, 2014

They dont even have the same president. And even if they had one single leadership, different t divisions have different pay, and totally different customers. Not even remotely the same.
