I haven't seen em checking anything like that lately, they recommend 6 foot for 37 state fleet and 8 foot for the system fleet.

Northern Tool and Equipment carries those T hooks. They also have several types of wheel straps.

They'll give you the over-the-tire straps to secure the vans. Four per vehicle. Brand new and you assemble the straps as you're getting ready to tie down. One ratchet on each end of each strap. You will load two vans, eight straps. Yours to keep when you're done.

Would it be possible for one of you wonderful fella's to e-mail me the list of Agents & Phone numbers? I can't find that little card they gave us years ago.

Plus it would be nice if both DH & I both had a copy (for when I'm home and he's on the road).

PM me and I'll send my e-mail addy.

    Thanks!

Got my inspection done, and learned a few good things from Shelly.

I've been told the ups loads are going all dedicated with $625 per day or $2 per mile min.

Do they pay the $625 if they have no loads that day or is it only a minimum-per-load rate? I was with a different dedicated account and if they had no loads I got $550 to stay at home that day.

I haven't been too impressed with what I've seen for scheduling on many of the UPS loads. Don't see how many of them, particularly in the northeastern part of the country, can possibly be run anywhere near legal let alone "on time" per their requirements. Maybe that's why I see more and more UPS drivers flying by me like they're auditioning to be FedEX drivers?

I was told it's paid either way. But they tried the same thing last year and it was hard getting paid when the load didnt' run.
And in the past all the runs have been scheduled to be legal only if load kicked out not a minute late and you averaged the speed limit. Then they always wanted to know why late, even if load kicked out 4 hours late and they all do.
But with slow winter flatbed freight and the ups money is good, can sure make me consider it.

When I was younger, I did not do UPS because I wanted to spend time with the kids between Thanksgiving and Christmas. When I got older, I didn't do UPS because I didn't want to work that hard.

Freight does get slow that time of year, but it helps us running the system, that there are so many trucks out of the system pulling UPS making the big bucks.

Everyone wins that time of year.
