I was offered a job with Pilot Logistics as a frac fueler, are they any good?

Basically everyone interviewed at pilot is offered a job. Actually getting beyond that is a different story. I think the managers are spineless and can't reject anyone in person

Thank you both for the feedback, who is a good company to work for as a frac fueler? Who is currently hiring?

I should probably specify I haven't started truck driving school yet, I was offered a frac fueler job with Pilot and they told me after a year they would pay for my CDL.

If you can actually get started with them go for it. Just be prepared.

What issues did you run into? They already did my background check and I just need to take the physical and drug test, which won't be a problem cause I don't even smoke cigarettes. They want me to go to some week long class in Dallas and then off to Odessa/Midland.

I won't be subtle about it: that's a TERRIBLE offer from a garbage company. Pilot is one of the lowest paying, least responsible, least safety oriented companies in the frac fueling game.

Don't even take my word for it; on your next follow up with them, feel free to ask them why they don't pay their drivers actual hourly pay until they arrive on site out in the fields, DESPITE the fact that a half dozen of their employees have died within the last year speeding in the shuttles and bobtails to make it out to site to start getting paid.

And they actually said they'd pay for your CDL after one year like that's some type of good deal? Whoopty-freaking-doo! Most fueling companies will help you get it literally ANY time you want. The company I work for letss the fuel techs (non-CDL workers) take a truck to the DMV for their CDL test just about any time.

Do yourself a favor; look into the other frac fuel outfits. Or just run a search on this forum for Pilot Logistics and see if you really like what you read.

Thank you Driver5, this is why I joined this forum, to research before I made a decision. I was unaware they didn't pay you for the time to the site, I thought that was standard for every company to do that. Would you mind me asking what company you work for? You can PM me if you don't want to put it out there on this board.

people are talking about Pilot. Is this the same Pilot that run small truck stops or is it a different corporation? And why is this company so bad to work for? Pay seems reasonable.Benefits seem ok as well.
