Westside Transport

Thats like holding a diploma from a Harvard grad and telling him he didn't spend enough time in special ed.

 

I used to work for Westside Transport from 2006-2009. They were very good until 2008 when the owner moved back to IA from FL. He cut out all the bonuses ( keep in mind that s about $12,000 in bonuses cut out. Yearly, Quarterly, Monthly mileage and fuel bonuses). Then he fired the President, and got a ex Heartland Express operations manager to run things. Like the previous posts said, the mileage went like to 250 miles average. There were times where they was no freight in IA, and you got stuck in Cedar Rapids all weekend with nothing to do. Or at times there were weekends where you ran 300 miles total from Friday morning to Monday with the load picking up Sunday afternoon for a Monday delivery. Their trucks would run 70-72 in the summer and with the fuel incentive program, you d be lucky to run 60 in the winter with the headwinds and 45,000 to 46,000 lbs loads of paper, glass, and Quaker Worley loads
