I like the way you calculate the raise. If you would get yourself promoted to vice president in charge of accounting, I would lease my truck to Crete. I figure I could get $3.00/ mile. And Tucker, I'll be willing to share . (Think paper bag full of cash).

After I deliver in Katy tx friday I got a pole tex run back to gp. No loads available saturday so I got a Oswego Illinois load leaving sunday. I have to get use to this outbound process. I was driving and all I comprehended was a Henderson run, Oregon, Michigan, Kansas, Illinois , and a Arizona. Not sure why I picked Illinois but it sure looks like I could have got better miles if my thinking process was faster lol.

I've been here over a year and I still catch myself thinking WTF, why did I choose this load, what was I thinking? I was trying to avoid going up to Cottage Grove...but where did I choose...Cedar Falls, IA which is 190 miles from there. And they're expecting single digit lows and a bit of afternoon ice on Monday.

I just grab anything to get clear of the PGP compound.
There no real way to predict where you'll end up.
The backhaul loop is where I seem to do best.
I'm on my 2nd backhaul hop and delivering no where
    near one of the plants.
So once I get this drop off , b/h will hook me up again.

I would've taken the Arizona load, but I pretty much avoid the north at all cost year round. I run up north enough when I was at my last company to last a life time. Now, I do my best to run the southeast. I'll be happy if I never cross the Mason Dixon line again. ;)

Have any of you ever been called by OB and read the list only to decline and decline
    taking one.

Ive talked to a few who actually tell OB they'll wait till the ne t day to see what's available.

I have never turned down a load even if it was ###### as I would rather be rolling than sitting around GP.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys, particularly the ones on the road keeping things moving while I am at home. Turkey in the smoker and cold beverages at hand:)

    ArmyGuy and Mev Thank this.

I rarely decline even if its bad unless I need to be home for something and the loads available wont get me back in time. So if I have time before needing to be home, I offer to do local work so I am making some money and not just sitting.

Now they have changed the flow a little bit. Before say if you were on Monday's outbound and you declined to take any loads, you would just roll over to the top of Tuesdays. Now if you decline to take a load, you will be moved to the bottom of the next days outbound. The only exception would be if they run out loads for Monday, then you would be moved to the top of Tuesday, but if you just declined then yea you go to the bottom. Which only seems right since the driver originally on Tuesdays board should not be jumped by someone who just didn't want any previous days loads.

The only time I declined a load was when I was trying to get home as well.

When did they change the way they put you on the board if you decline? Another one of those secret changes they make you find out about. This place is slowly becoming more and more like the regular trucking companies...I will be glad when spring gets here and the regular freight hauler's business picks up...my resumė is updated and ready.
