it says that as long as its pulled by a Day Cab it wont exceed length restrictions
which leads me to ask what if you have to OTR a container?
or all you have is an OTR truck with a sleeper (kind of bad luck with dispatching) -
Gardner out of CA run the 57' long & 14' high trailers with daycab cabovers. I was told they haul empty aluminum cans for Coke & Pepsi.
-
That's just crazy talk. But all the more power to you if you can get it done.
-
PMRacing better get ready for new antics in the railyards in their recordings, these guys can't back in 53's much less 60's.
-
But yet they gna keep the railyard's parking spot the same length
-
Yeah right I won't haul a 60ft. That's just stupid, a 40ft is horrible in the cities as it is.
-
It could still exceed and they also have to keep paying for hotels and motels haha -
Not any different than the Walmart prototype being tested now, Argosy day cabover, 8' drom box and a 60' long high cube van in Mississauga ON
The one size fits all concept within a market as large as either Canada or the US is not the final answer. You will give up some operational options, but the overall gain is worth it, according to the bean counters in the know.
The Walmart prototype handles 40% more cube per trip, a huge gain for a company that can use it. -
57 ft trailer is normally used for shuttling products to warehouses from the plant, especially on light loads requiring High-Cube. I imagine the 60 ft container also would be weight restricted and need extra axles.....Look at this beast, well over sixty foot.
