The international website shows these engines are ok to run 30,000 between oil changes.
I would suspect Poly just sets it at 15 k to keep a safety gap in place and not void the warranty.
Never have I made it back at exactly 15K I'm usually way over to the tune of several
thousand miles...yet not close to busting the 30 k limit.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

for the cummins isx ive read oil change interval is 10-15k ive asked them at the dealer and had petro guy look it up and have talked to owner ops with this engine and theyv all said the same thing. who knows who to believe anymore, i only know my filter usually clogs up around 12k everytime,

this is our engines
And the reason Poly's trucks have filter plugging issues is because the boss of the shop knows it all and refuses to research the problem. They have resolved this issue at Cummins by either adjusting the static injector timing, upgrading to an even newer filter than Poly uses or checking and replacing the EGR. Poly still uses the Fleetguard 9030 filter on their non-DEF ISX's, there is a newer recommend filter (I have the websight on my old S3)...but since 'wee iz stoopid truk dreyevers, we don't no no beter abot such thingz'...after all, to have a steering wheel holding yahoo like us having more up to date info than our college educated maintenance boss just isn't possible in managements eyes.Last edited: Nov 29, 2014

I'm quite certain I'm more educated than ANYONE in the shop. I hold 2 bachelors degrees, an MBA, and a CPA. One of the shop guys mentioned something to me about the "duality of man" so I inquired as to what that is. The answer he gave was quite humorous. Of course, I kept my chuckle to myself. I'm just not mean enough to embarrass someone that way. But, he should be careful, however, because there are those that would in a New York second. lol

Dude , let me know when you find the perfect company , no really, you say you were never that disappointed at Crete , so explain why you left after 10 yrs?
You and I talked the other day , you should have called out bound and told them to give the load you were on to someone else , you could have gotten something home and then taken an extended period off. But see you want your heavy miles and big paychecks and you're home time too , when one fails it's the end of the world. Quite frankly i'm completely baffled on how you dealt with Crete for 10yrs.
I'm sitting here scratching the skin off my head trying to figure that one out.
