for a load I did recently I paid $101 in tolls, granted (I assume) my company will reimburse me for tolls that still leaves a $101 that they didn't make.
that leaves me to my question, how do companies make money paying tolls? how do Owner/Ops/IC's how do they make money with that too? that's money that comes out of your pocket that I assume the load doesn't automatically compensate for?
that's what I wonder, and especially with tolls going up yearly
how can companies make money with Tolls?

Oh boy.
You make enough on the rate to cover expenses like tolls.
That was easy.FLATBED Thanks this. -
Your company figured those tolls into the freight charges and the customer paid them. Eventually the consumer pays them. Tolls are just a cost of doing business.

Get off that quick toll road. How many times did you stop? How many times did you reduce speed? How many extra miles did you run? And how much time did you lose? Add it all up, and your likely close to that $101.

Hay jabber, how do they make money with the cost of trucks so high? How can they pay for diesel, how can they pay you to fill the gap between the seat and the steering wheel?
-
It's easy! Most companies get their sucker drivers to pay them just like you did, jabber!
Come on, all this time thinking and that's the best troll question you can come up with?DriverToBroker, pattyj, HalpinUout and 2 others Thank this. -

Hopefully the thought of back charging the tolls fits in with his idea that CHEAP FREIGHT is better than NO FREIGHT

Often times avoiding the tolls result in much more stop and go and in some cases involve climbing mighty steep hills. I've found in many cases the cost of tolls to be less than avoiding them. I also figure them in to my rates unless minor.
