I can tell you from experience that *some* of the testers think their goal is to fail you. Trust me...i just passed my CDL test. I took it four times. I admit I failed two times, but the third time the tester made a error and counted 3 of my "free pull-ups" against me. and that caused me to fail.
I see truckers do thing everyday, that we are taught not to do in school. Sometimes they are taking short-cuts, but many times they have to do things because car drivers simply are oblivious about driving.
The fact is they need to let experienced drivers do the testing. The person that tested me twice and failed me, has never even driven a truck....
Do all you can to help him persevere..and achieve his goal.
My husband failed his road test thrice and I am worried

Thank you Woodie.. Yes.. I am being with him throughout. Got to realize sometimes failure can be because of another person. I refused to believe an examiner could be at fault and continued being puzzled at why his instructor thought he was doing well yet he kept failing. Things changed drastically when the test was scheduled on a Saturday.. and an experienced examiner did his job alone!

Thank you Dave.. I do hope the new week brings glad tidings.. It is amazing that they are good to take you although you arent 'experienced'... shows how good you are. Do you enjoy driving? Trucks scare the wits out of me!
Vijay has been looking through job ads all .. but said he wants to wait till Tuesday, when he gets to meet his manager at the training academy and takes his thoughts. He stands a possibility of being employed by the same company that trained him. I will keep you and the others in the forum informed.
You know.. never have I been so stressed before ! Well c'est le vie .. there is always something new ! I am so waiting for him to get a job..
I dont know if anyone in the forum would like to connect with me on facebook. If yes, do send a note and it would be a pleasure to connect there too.Big Don Thanks this. -

I am sure the school told them I was one of the better students. My resume shows I have had my class B license since 1983 showing I have had a CDL in good standing all that time even with the medical card up keep.
I do enjoy driving, it relaxes me. Even when pulling my car trailers to a race that could be 2+ to 12 hr 1 way. Yes I know I cannot drive on the job over 11 hrs or after 14 hrs in a truck. I think the relax part comes from needing to concentrate at driving I push ever thing out of my head to do the job at hand. The largest car trailer I had was a 2 car unit I towed behind a Ford E350 van. I also towed camp trailers of different sizes so a tractor trailer is just a larger unit to drive for me.
I think that is good that he wants to talk to his manager as it is best to get all information before making a decision on what to do. If he can get on with the training company is it something he will like and has he been looking at other companies to see what they have to offer?
Stress! How about failing your medical because of an eye issue and when getting that fixed find out you will need needles in that eye for the rest of your life. Needing a medical waiver for your medical card because of the eye. Not working for a year, wife kind of forced to take a package from her job during my trucking school. Because of us not having jobs thought it a good time to move down south so we put our house up for sale. We have people coming to look at the house with only 2 hr notice as we have 2 large dogs that have to be out of the house before they get here. Cant wait to get on the road to relax!
Sorry not on face book

Congratulations Sharmi2k to both of you. I'm sure the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders. It's almost more difficult to watch a loved one struggle than to be the one struggling.
I wish you both great success in finding an employer.

I was in Vijay's class at Arnold Bros. The test in Wpg is quite difficult even though the route itself is simple. There are many places to auto fail. Good to hear he got his class 1!
