Sometimes my truck loses power from the inverter for a split second. It causes the tv to reset. So I was wondering if there is a power supply similar to a laptop's that will prevent the tv from losing power for that split second. The tv is Samsung 32" Smart TV. I've searched for one and all I can find are standard power cords that the tv comes with.
Power Supply for Samsung TV?

You could find a small ups to plug the tv into. I don't know how friendly they are with inverters as the cheaper inverters put out a modified sine wave as opposed to a pure sine wave like the mains in the house.
Big Don Thanks this. -

Step up to "Pure Sine Wave" inverters you will never be sorry after paying the steep price.

Yes you can use a UPS (uninterrutible power supply). But I would do one major change. I would not plug it in like the home owner does. I would hook the UPS up to the trucks batteries. The UPS is nothing more than a inverter with its own batteries. If your using the trucks power to suplement the UPS's power then you should be golden. You will need to remember to get a UPS that works with 12 volt tho.

A appreciate the replies. I'm a company driver and can't hook anything up to the truck batteries. We use Thermo King inverters. Anything I use will have to plug into it. I don't know much about the quality of these inverters. I will look into UPSs.

A lot of UPS systems you may find are not going to like the "power supply" from the truck's DC system, or the trucks's (TK) inverter. As such, you're UPS will be "switching" potentially many dozens of times each hour or at least each day. The UPS boxes I've death with in the past are not built to "switch" on a repeated, almost constant basis due to miserably poor power conditions (voltage spikes and/or voltage drops), and before long it will fail, in one position or the other.
The TK inverters are good [if they are good and not defective] but if they are tied in to a truck with an APU, sometimes the APU is not properly configured and will cause the inverter to freak out and this can compound inverter issues. -
Yes that does pose a problem. The other problem is the better UPS will freak out when it is not running on the house current. So you will need a computer to be able to control the alarm on the better models. Yet you could still do as I posted above. Create a pigtail that is prewired to the internal batteries and gets power through the cigarrette outlet. The idea is that the trucks 12 volt should keep the internal batteries charged. Yet in this case you would also need to get a dual battery isolator so the truck wont try to draw down the inverter on a cold day when it is trying to start a frozen engine. Yet it is feasible to set it up this way to get the power supplied.
With out knowing the wattage this recomendation is purely speculative. This one from Amazon would be sufficient for most applications. You would need to get the isolator from a automotive parts supplier as well as the 12 volt accessorie pigtail. -
I've tried all major stores and I can't find a pure sine inverter? Where can I get one besides online?
I do otr so I'm all over the place.... thanks -
I googled 'pure sine wave inverters' and it came up with more results than I can count, but as for a store...that might be a little tough, especially in a truck...maybe at a high end stereo/electronics store maybe.
