Hey guys, I'm 29yrs old 310lbs and I need to lose weight.. I boiled it down to that my biggest vice is soda.. Don't get me wrong my fast food cravings aren't good either, but my biggest problem is my 6 sodas a day which consists of mt dew,Pepsi, and Dr pepper.. I have tried to quit cold turkey numerous times and after a day or so I give up, because I crave it so much and I get headaches.. I know if I just quit soda i would lose 20lbs easily.. Any advice would be appreciated

Coffee!
Switch to carbonated sugar free flavored fizzy water.
Dilute soda with ice and lots of water.
Look at pics of diabetics with amputated limbs. Better yet go to a dials is ward and take in the sites and smells.
Good luck! Hope you can make the switch.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
well you could start slowly and go diet
I know it tastes different but a few days later you wont notice -
Coffee. Still get your caffeine fix, without all of the artificial sweeteners that wreck havoc on the body. Ice tea in the summer if you'd prefer cold beverages. Find fresh brewed stuff without the artificial sweeteners...use REAL sugar if you want it sweetened.

Yea never thought about that... I usually can't stand the taste of coffee unless its ice coffee.. You also bring up a good point about diabetes, I have a 1yr old daughter and I wanna be able to run around with her and play and not feel like I'm gonna pass out and when she gets older I don't wanna be looked at as the fat dad to people at the school lol maybe I'm reading too far into it

About 4 months ago I quit chewing tobacco, drinking caffeine and eating alot of fast food. My goal first off was not to die and get my bp down. I'm also a diabetic so all of this couldn't hurt. I started drinking diet first..not that bad after a couple of days then just started drinking a couple a day and then just water all together. I have lost around 10 lbs and feel so much better not to mention my bp has came way down and when I took my dot physical I passed easy. Water is hard to drink all the time at first but now I start in the mornings and drink it all day with no problems. Good luck!

Cut back on the soda gradually, it is almost too much of a shock to the system to do it cold turkey. Personally I think Vitamin Water ZERO's are great, get them at Wally World though due to cost. When you are at your next shipper / receiver take a walk to whichever fence is the far one and back....just little things, increase each week should help with your goal...good luck to you!!

Flavored carbonated water is good. I also buy a lot of regular bottled water & flavor it with Crystal Light. When the urge DOES hit I go with Diet Dr. Pepper...I can't tell the difference between that and the regular.

You could try a soda stream your intaking water and kinda getting your fix heard its a good substitute

soda stream has sugar, and their diet flavors suck. heres what I did coke zero or pepsi max, they don't taste like the regular diet drinks, it what I did 30 pounds in one year
