I got a backhaul today finally around 1300. Picking up in mundelein il going to poly north. I'm here at poly north now. Got a outbound for tomorrow, had 3 choices Michigan, load ending in hastings new York, and 2 drops ending in hyattsville Maryland. I took the Maryland load hoping it wasn't to close to dc and I was wrong lol.

I ended up having to do a load rescue 720 miles away ,
big stink apprently went down.Broker load that
started out in green river ended up far far away in the wrong direction.
It got bounced between two poly trucks only to end up sitting in a secure lot at
a KW shop way up in the great white north.
Finally got to the truck shop where the other truck / trailer was
to find out that the driver got fired or abandoned the truck, but nobody was sure.
When I called Dsp they weren't sure what went down.
I couldnt do anything till they contacted PGP , everything was locked down solid.
I checked in and the man running the shop mentioned to me that
when the guy that showed up with his truck he had a lot of people with him.
The way he spoke it's as if they were all in his truck.
I'm speculating he may have been fired over having
his whole family in the truck or something , I ve seen this
happen before so I'm just connecting the dots.
Who knows , it was confusing , the driver kept the paperwork so I had to wait for that for an hour
but I finally got hooked and am hammering the load down to Texas
pas fast as I can . The customer needs their product.

Broker said my back haul will load me today if I get there before 1600 and the receiver in Dallas will take me up to 1600 tomorrow....sweeeet! Looks like a mid 4000 mile week this week. And when I called Out bound...Myron answered, he said he noticed I was moving, and was I empty? Sho-nuf, am rolling to pick up my back haul today and will be delivering in Dallas tomorrow. "Wait, you'll be here tomorrow?" Yup...need an oil change, but I called to see what freight was like this weekend..."we need drivers both days, we were looking at your truck, but weren't sure if you could be down here...your truck is going in the shop?" Just for an oil change...there is a recall on the no-idle a/c, so it can wait, or...I'm not too proud to drive a loaner...when there is freight to move this time of year, I'll run when/however I can. "Great! Which day you want to go out?" Sunday, I'll reset Saturday and have a full 70 on Sunday..

Got an early call from OB as well as they needed someone to cover a 3 stopper ending in SLC and he said that most of the folks on the list had "Do not chain!" So rolling out Saturday with that and already got the ok to roll back to PW after finishing up Tuesday morning in SLC for a Wednesday load out of PW. And if the forecasted weather holds up as planned should be smooth sailing the whole trip.

Also if you need a place to park and the FJ is full off I-10 x 137 just head south about 1.5 miles to Grant street where you should be fine to overnite. Parked there last night with a handful of other trucks after I got ran off of my FJ spot. It is right past the Dunn-Edwards place where we deliver to. Also Van Buren street just south of the Pilot off exit 133A has ample parking along the street if in that area and you need a spot.

    ArmyGuy and jdrentzjr Thank this.

I'd say the consignee is punishing him for delivering a week or two late.
