So all I would need to get it bobtail and physical damage insurance for the tractor. I'm doing some shopping this weekend. I appreciate you guys clearing it up for me. Because I was quite confused when the recruiter was explaining it to me. I've been reading this thread since 2012 and y'all have been a big help.

 

Just got fuel at the T/A in ok city for 1.939 !!

 

It went back up in Minnesota. It's like $3.08 in Albert Lea I believe.

that's it, you can beat the price mercer has at 20 bucks for bobtail and the physical damage has windshield coverage, you can replace windshield twice a year w/ no deductible

 

The insurance at Mercer really is top notch.

 

unlimited windshields, they did away with the limit way back. They don't want us getting tickets for broken glass and accruing CSA points. Easiest insurance I've ever dealt with, call our claims people not an insurance company, and they handle everything. I've had tires stolen and they paid 100%, had batteries stolen and same thing for parts and labor. Had a truck back into me (three times!) and gave them dash cam video, they handled that fast, and a car hit the rear of my trailer and again no problems. I've never had insurance claims go so easily. Oh, and probably six or seven windshield replacement too, three in one month! Have never paid a deductible for anything yet.

 

well , it finally paid off having a kid, the middle kid owns his own concrete plant with 6 trucks. i went by there this morning and he had his mechanic/ yard man, take off the steering gear box, 45 minutes and its off, i take the core 70 miles away to savannah,ga. mhc kenworth, picked up a gear box 858.07, took it back, 3 hours total getting box, 1 hour and 15 minutes to install. total time, 5 hours and 20 minutes and up and running. total labor charge,,,, zero, kid said he owed me one.
