Drivers, I thought to post a note about passing, mostly because I don't see that much good technique when I'm rolling along.
    1. Please, don't blink your high beams to signal me over. My retinas don't need the flash. Click your lights off/on quickly, I'll get the message. If you want to be courteous at all, that is.
    2. Please, don't pull in front of me so close I can read the numbers on your door seal. Give me at least one full length, or even better, a couple of seconds.
    3. If you can, please don't pull into a faster moving stream of traffic to make your pass, just wait until there's a safe opening. I've seen such bad driving on this one, crazy. It's like asking for a traffic incident when you presume everybody is watching your back end.
    4. Those turtle races? Insane. Why not just wait for a hill and do it then? One of us will be faster, either up or down, pass then. Just don't think it's OK to create one of those infuriating fast lane blocks and expect everybody to be happy about it. Of course, stuff does happen, luck of the draw on that.
    5. I get confused sometimes when drivers turn on their right signal and immediately launch in front of me? Or, don't signal or look at all. I think it makes sense to turn on that signal telling me that you think you're clear, then letting me blink you in. You know, so we're both on the same page. I see this occasionally, and it's so much safer.

I hope to get more instruction on this from replies and driver experiences in realtime. Thanks.

Number ONE may not be done as easily as you think, especially when we push in the yellow brake button and our headlights come on automatically. Now, if you want to, I will gladly pull out that brake knob, but I highly suspect the cars or trucks behind me may not appreciate the sudden stop into my trailer.

Ok, now how do YOU "blink us in"? Are your headlights on when YOU push in YOUR yellow brake knob?

Some people slow down when they pass. :tard:

Come up and slow down, hang out behind for a bit, then ease past slowly, and finally match speed just after the bumpers are clear.... Then speed up to the next truck and do it again.

The 'high-beam versus lights-off/on' thing doesn't always work, anyway...

Just don't blink me over....I really don't need it.
I know when i'm a couple truck lengths ahead and will come over then..
I try not to cut in close at all...especially in the rain or snow so I don't throw spray all over the truck I passed..Just old school thinking I guess!

I lol every time I see people whining about the high beam flash. Of all the things out there that split second of a bright light is the least of my worries. That goes for truck or 4 wheeler alike.

Reducing my following distance to 1 second or less is annoying, forcing me to then back out of it and resume a safer following distance.

Often in busier traffic, I find myself setting the cruise to 60 or so until traffic clears up - less stress.
