Tandems can be heavier but not the gross unless you get a permit.

I'll head out Monday or if nothing decent pops up down here I'll bounce north Monday night.

Lots of changes for me. Gotta work pretty steady now, no more taking half the year off. We got another little one on the way so going to need to sock away another hundred grand for college for the little guy/gal.

Ok guys and gals of Mercer... thinking that the hubby and I are jumpin' ship. Got a friend who moved over to Mercer before Christmas and is loving it. A lil scared that he's still in the "honeymoon" faze, and the elog will be a new thing for us... Lots of posts from happy employees tho.... So here's the real question... The main thing that has us considering Mercer, is we were told that he can train me. I got my CDL 2 years ago, but due to a family issue had to come off the road. Soooo... no verifiable OT experience for the last 2 years. Now things are back on track and it's time we get back to our trucking life... are we going to find out this is BS?? And for an old dog like my hubby... any advice on the elog deal?

I'm still adjusting to Elog miss paper, I got no information on the training issue, been here since September best decision I've ever made it really feels like home here I love that I can be left alone no stupid stuff and just work and I know my coordinator is looking out for me and helping me be profitable, perfect example on this load I lost $1,.000 couldn't fit the last piece on, he found 2 more LTL pieces I'm at $1.98 all miles that includes deadhead

So the "work when you want to work, and don't when you don't want to" is actually true?? It's hard to fathom not having a dispatcher calling saying, You ARE GOING to........ The best one was last week when the owner told my husband that he would fuel where he told him to.. because even if we pay for our own fuel, we use his money first by using the fuel card. First or not... the $94,000 in fuel came out of our pockets last year!!

That's the all in rate fuel and everything, but fuel only costs me 0.30 cpm b4 our discount. Discount brings it down quite a bit, discount and Fuel surcharge combined fuel only costs me 0.04cpm

No Mercer is nothing at all like that, every day I load up the EFS website and find the cheapest fuel on my route if I can't make it and it's a nickel or more cheaper than I can get to I fuel enough with the 2nd cheapest to make it to the cheap fuel, love not having to worry about fuel tax. My coordinator calls me runs loads by me I just say yes or no, no questions asked when I say no unless he knows something is going on in the market or he had another load lined up the first was just to get me there, he set me up for a week in January every load was $4.00 a mile each paid $1,000 or better. But ultimately it was my decision I could have said no and he wouldn't pressure me to change my mind. Mercer is setup to make us money but they will also let us drive our business in the ground if you so choose it's all up to you
