For the five week course we had one week in class. Then we drove two eight hour days on the enclosed course learning some shifting & double clutching. The third day we hit the road and took an hour a piece driving for the eight hour class day for the rest of the class not counting the skills course practice days and pre trip practice. Our instructor even let us come in on one of our off days to practice with him there of course. Hope I answered your question! Oh yeah one week was all night driving ten hour nights at an hour each then you start over in the rotation.
I start Monday 01/12/15

Chaps! You're the man! Congratulations on your accomplishment. I know the feeling man and it's awesome isn't it?
I've read someone else here say this and it happened to me too, and that is the first time I remember my mom saying how proud she is of me is when I got my CDL. And I've hit some pretty impressive home runs in life. Who knew it would be such a big deal?
But it is, and now you will get to enjoy the rewards of all the hard work (and hardships!) you've endured these past few weeks!
See you down the road
! WTG!

U R welcome! We trained 8.5hrs a day. Weekends but the one time when we were doing night driving it was on a Friday because we had done 10 hour days and were off that Friday, so he let us come in then for extra training. The weekends if you wanted to go was just pre trip practice.

Skydivedavec, Thanks man & again I appreciate all the encouragement!!! Yep it is a awesome feeling accomplishing something I wanted to do for years & let my fear of failure stand in the way. Glad I am done but I did make some great friends during this at school & it was fun. Thanks alot!

Great job, Please take a little advise, Take care of your CDL like it's your 1st born, Don't let any company damage it with faulty equipment and other things like over weight loads, Good luck with your new career
Chaps Thanks this. -
I agree 100% with you. I have seen on here too many drivers that go with questionable company and then are here needing advice on how to fix a problem. Good advice thank you!
