meltom, are you saying its paranoia if a driver refuses to drive a truck with an interior cam?

You have forgot the only source of income for a trucking company, is the driver, you can have all the loads in the world, you got with a phone call, but until a driver has picked up this load and unloaded safely and *On Time,* your customers will never come first without the driver getting it to them, awaiting on their property most times for them to come to work to unload their load. I've seen this job from several different keypoints, Dispatch/Mechanic/Driver/Owner, I put noone above the other, but thats not what I'm reading, You're telling me the customer comes first, so You'd fire all the drivers you have to keep your customer happy. Most drivers just want to be left alone, not having some corporate guy looking over their shoulder telling them what you're doing wrong, if they wanted that then they'd become a dispatcher and go home every night too.

    Idea!

Fair is Fair, Lets put a camera in your car, watching every move you make, and one in your house, watching you, and perhaps, listening to everything you say, so that when you complain about this, you are brought into the office and given a 'write up' in your 'personnel folder' and maybe even given you a 3-4 day sit period when you don't obey these rules, where you sit in your office and do not make any money, which would be the similarity of a dispatcher playing games with you and refusing to give you a load to 'teach' you a lesson on how to become a better stooge.
*Note I dont mean the term 'You' as listen above as to imply anybody, but meaning it as a technical term as meaning what will happen if you disobey authority*

And if it wasn't for the service we provide for our customer's we wouldn't have the capital to hire drivers........I'm not concerned about driver turnover.....we always have 20 to 30 new guys coming in every Monday........as for camera's it's an idea we've been discussing to protect our investments.....I'm sure you'd do the same thing if you had to trust a guy off the street with your $160,000 truck.

Hmm, companies got along just fine for years without them, you know back when there were companies that paid well and you had happy employees which in turn make productive employees.

We start our drivers out at 0.50CPM.....the reason we can do this is because of our long term relationship's with the small group of customers that we started out with along with some of the major ones we picked up along the way.

I'm saying it's one thing to be against them, personal opinions are fine. Once we start spinning this topic into more than it is, the crazy starts coming out. We're all capable of it.
